The fallout: Well Vahine's plan worked out perfect and we built a crap load of trust among us 3 over here. We shared everything with each other and it made it incredibly easy to dodge any attempts to pit us against each other. Everything ended up really nice after this to be honest.
Katie is now a non factor judging from her self vote and overall social incompetence.
Alexis came to Sarah and myself after wondering what happened. She was pleased to hear she was never the target and continued to express interest in working with us which is a good sign whether it's genuine or not. She may just be saving her own butt but either way voting out Katie (as we planned) will gain a little trust on both sides whether or not she plans on sticking with us. Couldn't hurt right?
I immediately went to Pete because he was pretty adamant that he pull in Max with myself and Matty prior to the swap. I explained to him all the crap I dug up on him and highlighted how he was targeting Matty as well as working with him behind my back. He seemed to be cool with it after I explained and I assured him that I didn't mean to affect our relationship at all. He agreed and seemed to be worried that I had been mad at him for voting out Darrah. I was being 100% genuine with him and I think he felt the same so I'm glad voting out our "ally" didn't hurt me and him much.
Lay of the land: With Max gone we're left with 6 Tane and 5 Vahine left in the game, final 11. Right now we really want to lose this challenge again, boot Katie, and even up the numbers of our tribes and make things more interesting. Right now the Sex Ed alliance still exists and gives me a core 4 of Vahine I can ride to the end if I want to. At the same time, I have Matty and Pete in an (unofficial I think?) three-way alliance with indications from Pete that we'll be working together when the time arises. Vahine MAY have just picked up Alexis as well so it should be noted that she's in the mix in terms of a possible ally heading into a merge.
Right now it's pretty straight forward in terms of gameplan, if the merge is coming at final 10 or beyond then we need to even up the tribal numbers, which means we're preparing to throw another challenge tonight in order to vote off Katie. From there we're tied up at 5-5 assuming Danielle and Abi are still strong with us. I need to talk with them more and make sure they don't feel on the outs of the Vahine 5 because that'll screw us at the merge no doubt. Especially Abi has to be reassured something by someone, because to my knowledge she's just getting tugged along by the Sex Ed alliance.
My place in the game: My strategy coming into this was to try and play an honest game and be likable enough to still have working relationships with most everyone to benefit myself and my alliance.
At the moment I think I've played everything as best I could. I'm currently in a majority alliance on my tribe where at least 2 of them trust me completely. The only person I've lied to was the guy trying to play everyone and we shared the blame of that as a group. Looking ahead I see myself possibly swaying Pete and/or Alexis to vote with us and do our best to pick off the Tane I can't work with. That'd be Sierra, BJ, and Misty probably in that order with Alexis possibly thrown in there if she's not with us.
If we can get the numbers then I think I'm set up very well to get me to at least the final 4. I'm not cocky, I know anything could happen but that's just my assessment at least right now. We're a long ways away so we'll have to see what audibles I'm gonna have to make.
